Proposed deletion of Michigan Elk

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Michigan Elk, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Article appears to be a content fork of Elk

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Michigan Elk

[edit]

Hello, Michigamee, thanks for contacting me regarding the article you created, Michigan Elk. I proposed this article for deletion because I viewed it as a content fork of Elk. The article was not deleted; however, it was redirected to Elk. You can access the previously-displayed information in the page page history of Michigan Elk, for example here. If you want this information to be included in Wikipedia, I recommend you discuss how it can best be incorporated on the talk page of Elk. If you still believe it should be included in Wikipedia as a stand-alone article, you should find reliable sources that demonstrate the subject is notably different from the article to which it's currently redirected; otherwise a future article on this topic may be deleted instead of redirected, and you would lose access to the page history.

One more thing; it appears you've been editing under two user names, Michigamee and Michigamme. I expect this was unintentional, but Wikipedia policy recommends editing under only one account except in unusual circumstances. You may want to stick with Michigamee, the older account. Please let me know if you have any more questions, or concerns I can address. Thanks for working with me on Wikipedia, and good luck! Baileypalblue (talk) 21:15, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
