A tag has been placed on Severed Vesper requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Squid661 (talk) 16:39, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Severed Vesper article

[edit]

Hey Miguel, welcome to Wikipedia! The link for the member of the band was not what concerned me, but rather how your article is notable. Your article doesn't specify how this artist is notable. If you follow the link above (notable), you can see what the requirements are for a musician to be considered notable. I'm not trying to be hostile here: I'm just trying to tell you that this content does not quite fit an encyclopedia yet. If you can modify the article so that it meets one or more of the requirements specified in the page, it's notable. Also, please add four tildes to the ends of your messages in the future, it really helps a lot because then we can more easily determine where a message came from. Thank you! Hello again Miguel! I don't think I used the proper wording in my previous message, so please let me try this again. In your article, you do not specify how this artist is notable. Are they notable? If so, please do state how they are notable and we can then consider this dispute resolved. Thank you for your understanding. Squid661 (talk) 17:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Miguel, I just looked over the page again. Is the article about yourself? I ask because you're named Miguel and so is Severed Vesper's sole member. I've done my research and it seems to me this subject does not meet the notability requirements of Wikipedia for having an article written about it. If you'd like, though, the content could be put to your userpage instead. I want to help you here. What would you like to have done? Once again, let me go over what will likely happen, assuming I'm correctly interpreting this site's guidelines. If you don't explain how this artist is notable enough to have an article written about them, it will have to be deleted at some point. You might have been trying to write something autobiographical instead, though, so what you've written could be userfied and put to your user page instead. If this is what you meant to do, just tell me and I'll try to userfy the page. If you want to do it yourself, that should be okay too. Thank you, and once again welcome to Wikipedia! Sorry Miguel, it looks like I'm too late. The article has already been deleted. If you're the artist Severed Vesper, you can rewrite the article on your user page if you want. Happy editing! Squid661 (talk) 23:34, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright, we're all new to Wikipedia at some point. I, for one, am still fairly new here myself. Don't let things like this get you down or discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You're not the first person it's happened to and you won't be the last. Thank you, and happy editing! Squid661 (talk) 16:59, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
