Analog holes

[edit]

Are analog loopholes different from analog holes? Could the loopholes page be redirected into the holes page? The engadget article seems to be about holes rather than loopholes. Lame Name (talk) 19:54, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say that these terms are interchangeable to a degree. Perhaps the 'Analog Loophole' is more of a merging of the concept of the 'Analog Hole loophole.' The etymology seems to support this contraction even though there is nowhere that I've found the phrase 'Analog Hole loophole,' it is generally understood that the 'Analog Hole' is a loophole to removing DRM from media. Google search hits for "Analog Hole" and "Analog Loophole" are respectively 362,000 and 44,100. The preferred term to refer to this loophole is "Analog Hole." Incidentally, the Google search hits for "Analog Hole Loophole" was either 0 or too low to be measured. mikduga 13:54, 16 March 2009 (CST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.1.195.55 (talk)

AfD nomination of Analog loophole

[edit]

I have nominated Analog loophole, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Analog loophole. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
