Gambling Addiction affects approximately 500,000 people in the UK alone. This is the number of problem gamblers (or their families) that call the Gambling Helplines each year.

According to the gambling statistics the number of problem or compulsive gamblers has been on the rise continuously for the last 10-15 years. However if only 1 in 10 people call in for help, the actual number of problem is far higher than reported, possibly up to 5 million people in the UK alone with gambling problems. Worldwide this figure is estimated to be 50 million.

The Gambling Addiction blog covers a number of different aspects of this widespread but often hidden issue, including:

  • Diagnosis - questions to uncover if you may have a gambling problem, or a separate test to see if someone you know might have a gambling problem.
  • Treatment - find out where to get help for the issue and to do something about it

Treatment for gambling is available at their website.
