Just a heads up, on the Progress by State section, there are a few pages listed as "missing" that are indeed created. I try to keep the Virginia and West Virginia sub-sections updated, but the others are outside of my "coverage area" :). - NeutralhomerTalk07:04, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks - I add new stations to and fix that page regularly for call sign changes, but I haven't gone in to clean out created articles in a while. Might be a good idea for me to hit it later today. Mlaffs (talk) 13:02, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

Just a couple of things, first WJLP's test authority has NOT repeat NOT been cancelled they are very much still on the air in New Jersey not Nevada, in fact as far as I am aware Channel 3 in Ely is presently dark and if you scroll down the FCC records you'll see that WJLP now shows their City of License in Middletown Township, New Jersey and that the Ely license being shown is for historical records. Therefore wouldn't you agree that since WJLP (formerly KVNV} is now defunct because obviously you cannot have two stations operating on one FCC license. So I am going to revert your edit. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 20:22, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

First, yes, WJLP's program test authority was cancelled. Here is the FCC's letter informing the station of that fact and here is the video from the station owner on Facebook criticizing the decision. The station did take themselves dark for several hours as a result. Based on filings the station subsequently made with both the FCC and the Court of Appeals, the FCC has stayed their cancellation for the time being, and the station has returned to the air under program test authority. Second, here is the FCC's facility record for WJLP. In the top record — WJLP, NV, Ely — you'll see text in red that says "Licensed". This is the active record for the station, licensed to cover Ely. In the second record — WJLP, NJ, Middletown Township — you'll see text in red that says "Construction Permit". This record is not yet an active license. Assuming that the station eventually prevails in their dispute with the FCC, the station will presumably be issued their license to cover Middletown Township. At the moment, that's a very big assumption.
That said, the introductions to the lists of television stations by state are vague as to what's properly included in them. The standard for the similar lists of radio stations by state is that they include only fully-licensed stations in the state. However, many of the television lists include stations from adjacent states that serve markets within the listed state, so that standard clearly doesn't hold. I'm also not interested in this becoming a thing, so I'm not going to restore the edit, but it was valid, particularly as it included the clarifying information that the station was relocating. Well if it was cancelled it isn't anymore because I'm tell you WJLP is back on the air see here for an article from the Asbury Park Press. From what I understand the FCC back down at least temporarily and is allowing WJLP is broadcast until December 1st. Also that video is actually old by now and was broadcast after PMCM LLC received the ultimatum from the FCC prior to temporarily going off-the-air, Mr. Robert Mc Allan the CEO of PMCM LLC. the owner of Channel 3 has made several statements about being back on the air. Yeah, that's what I said. Mlaffs (talk) 03:33, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Connecticut TV

How do you conclude that Channel 48 is a Retro Television Network affiliate? I am seeing their broadcast any time I turn on my b&w set, and see AMGTV, not Retro. It's there for anyone to see; no secret access. I wouldn't rely on online listings. Seven1672 (talk) 18:27, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Well, it's Wikipedia, so all we have are online sources. When Retro's own website says that they're an affiliate, I'm not really in position to question it. I can't argue with what you're seeing, but it needs to be verifiable. Mlaffs (talk) 18:33, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Wikimedia genealogy project

Just wondering if you have any thoughts re: the idea of WMF hosting a genealogy project. If so, feel free to contribute to this discussion. And apologies if I have made this request before. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:07, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

List of Television Stations in Arizona

Hello Mlaffs. Regarding the List of Television Stations in Arizona article, you modified an edit with the comment "Good News TV is branding for the 3ABN feed; 22.2 is currently blank." Regarding 22.2 I'm pretty sure it has been GNTV Latino for months now. That is certainly what the bug on the screen showed recently. But in an attempt to avoid original research the mygoodnewstv.com site schedule page for GNTV Latino lists it as Phoenix 22.2 although I think relying on that also breaks some wiki rule. Moving on and digging myself in yet a deeper hole, the schedule on the same website for English shows several hours a day of Hope Channel programming as well as some LLBN shows and locally produced shows so to say Good News TV is branding for the 3ABN feed seems to be an oversimplification. Your thoughts? Sdenny123 (talk) 05:38, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
