I'm a sysop. Sysops, or admins, are trusted members of the Wikipedia community. This means I'm supposed to obey the rules.
However, there are a couple of circumstances under which I may find it appropriate to ignore the rules.
- I feel the encyclopedia will be improved by doing so;
- The need to protect Wikipedia, both the encyclopedia and the community, is so great that ignoring the rules is justified;
- I really want to.
