[edit]

One advantage of the use of trait activation theory (TAT) is its incorporation of personality traits, job performance, and intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. This acts as an advantage for the theory because it gives the theory the ability to condense and improve the use of personality tests in the workforce. In turn, this allows easier and more effective pairing or individual identification of companion theories that will be the most crucial for gathering the desired data. For example, cognitive affective personality systems (CAPS) paired with TAT helps to evaluate how certain situational factors would trigger affective and cognitive scripts.
