Hey Mxbats,

I feel like we may know each other. I'm going to give you a quick primer on Wikipedia. Wikipedia usually only posts cited information. We don't censor information, unless it is harmful to a person, or by some miracle, it's ordered by a state or Federal judge (and I may even be partly wrong on the latter). If it looks like you are trying to censor information, you will most likely get banned from Wikipedia. For the record, removing coordinates to protect Skylight Cave will do very little, as the cave is located on USGS maps found in person or online. The cave also has its location published in the book titled "Central Oregon Caves" by Charlie Larson, which is for sale at Deschutes National Forest buildings. A wikipedia coordinate isn't changing the bottom line, since many sites have directions to the cave, including websites that are conglomerates for locations, not the least among them being the geocaching.com website.

If you really want to make an impact, add source material to the article that shows how the bats are being affected. You will need a source to add that material or it will be eligible for deletion. Educate the public, and Wikipedia is a good place to start. That's coming from me, a cave aficionado and lover of bats and cave invertebrates, cave geology, among other things. But please don't edit war (reverting edits without good rationale). You'll find Wikipedia has very little tolerance for that. Leitmotiv (talk) 06:47, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
