About different English spellings
[edit]Hello, and thanks for raising a question about spelling preferences. But I need some clarification, because on the talk page you mentioned: "For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.". So, the first edit of the fibre-optic gyroscope page https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fibre-optic_gyroscope&oldid=14401725 uses "fibre" only in the title, and 4 other occurencies of that word in the text are "fiber". Therefore the first author's form of english is American, and the spelling adjustment did't violate the aforementioned rule. Kw0oeygrmy (talk) 16:31, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
