Potentially inappropriate username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Nebraska Department of Roads, and I noticed that your username, "NDORweb", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.!-- Template:uw-coi-username --> Ian.thomson (talk) 17:44, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your attention needed at WP:CHU[edit]

Hello. A bureaucrat or clerk has responded to your username change request, but requires clarification before moving forward. Please follow up at your username change request entry as soon as possible. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 19:20, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

DOR still appears to mean "Department of Roads," and the name doesn't identify who at the NDOR is controlling the account. That's the issue. Ian.thomson (talk) 17:18, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I understand why I was blocked because of my username and would like to request another username change to something that has nothing to do with where I work, but I can't do that until I've been unblocked

Decline reason:

As you mention, you need to change your username, so for your next unblock request you should use the text:
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}

Finally, it would be helpful if you could give some indication of what articles you intend to edit. PhilKnight (talk) 10:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Requested username:

Request reason:

This username does not have anything to do with my job. I plan to edit the post I made to the Chupacabra page. Other than that, I really don't know what I will be editing. Nothing in mind at this point.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. PhilKnight (talk) 16:40, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

December 2014[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, NDORweb, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Drmies (talk) 03:18, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It can take many days to process an unblock request. You now have 4 of them, with 3 different names - you're only permitted one at a time. Please delete whichever ones you no longer need. After that, please respond to the following: Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. the panda ₯’ 00:23, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I believe I have deleted all unblock requests except for the initial one with the original username. Yes, I understand all of the questions you asked. If I could please be unblocked so I can request a username change that would be greatly appreciated.
