NOAA logo on NOAA Research

[edit]

If the previous logo of NOAA Research is obsolte, the NOAA logo is out of place. This article is not about NOAA but about OAR.

@Pierre cb: Hi Pierre, thanks so much for being vigilant. You are correct in that the NOAA Research logo is outdated--truth be told, no logo or seal other than the NOAA version is approved for NOAA line office representation (NOAA's National Weather Service is an outlier and is cause for much internal discussion). In an effort to control branding, we are replacing the NOAA Research logo with the approved NOAA seal wherever and whenever we come across it. That said, again, we're seriously grateful for your awareness and work to protect our name and brand. OAR (or NOAA Research) should be represented by the NOAA logo. Then, the article should not have a logo at all since the NOAA logo is not specific to OAR. You cannot use a logo in an article in this manner and I have already removed it from the French version. Pierre cb (talk) 23:32, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
