I appreciate what you are trying to say on the D'Onofrio page. But as stated on the talk page (go have a look) the spokesperson contacted wiki through the WP:OTRS. Shell_Kinney, a long time Admin here as well as myself have verified without a doubt the authenticity of the spokesperson's identity. To verify that D'Onofrio is divorced we would need proof of the dissolution of marriage, something that if true would be available through the New York public record. We've already considered locking the page before, we may in fact actually do it. I wish I could give you more information, but I have to respect the privacy of the person we've been working with on this. At the present time, this is the chosen method by which the D'Onofrio family wishes to address the error. TrishGow 23:18, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have to second the request to stop changing the article. While I understand your point of view, the text you are inserting in not encylopedic and promotes original research. We must insist that Wikipedia articles be of a high quality, particularly in the case of biographies of living people - it is important that we get it right. It unfortunate that so much misinformation has spread via fansites on the internet, but our priority still needs to be having the correct information. Verification was done officially through WP:OTRS; if you have any further concerns, I'll be happy to discuss with you, but please do not engage in edit wars. You have made an edit that could be regarded as defamatory. Please do not restore this material to the article or its talk page. If you restore this material to the article or its talk page once more, you will be blocked for disruption. See Blocking policy: Biographies of living people. I fail to see what's defamatory about the following: "According to a source supposedly speaking on behalf of the D'Onofrio Family, Vincent could have recently reconciled with his former wife Carin, but the actor has not personally confirmed this information". All I wrote was the truth, which is that Mr. D'Onofrio has not made any statements confirming the information given by this unnamed source. I will not engage in an edit war, and I apologize for disrupting the speculation about Mr. D'Onofrio's private life. Those who know him are aware of his dislike for discussions about his personal business, so perhaps the "Personal Life" section should be removed altogether from his biography, since such details could not be more irrelevant for those genuinely interested in his career and projects. I hope the administrators believe in freedom of speech enough to not censor this message. Thank you. NY10001
