Hi and welcome to Wikipedia! I notice you've created A Brief History of Chief of Bureau of Medicine and Surgery/Surgeon General of the U.S. Navy. You may want to check out Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia for information on formatting an article. In short,
- == text == makes a heading. Adding additional = signs makes smaller sub-headings
- * creates a bullet point; # creates a numbered bullet (at the start of a line)
- If you indent a line (put a space at the start), this is automatically formatted as code:
this is code
You make wish to use bullets instead. Alternatively, to indent a line, use : a colon. Additional colons at the start of the line indent further.
- You can link to other Wikipedia articles by enclosing the name in double square brackets eg. [[Navy]] links to Navy. If you want to link to an article that has a different name for the word you want to use eg. link to United States Congress but only show the word 'Congress', you can do [[United States Congress|Congress]], separating the two bits with a pipe ('|') which will produce Congress. Adding links to other Wikipedia articles is called wikilinking. If there's anything I can help you with, you can leave a message on my user page. --Kateshortforbob 12:35, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
