Aizya (Naaz) Joshi is the first Indian transsexual woman to appear on the cover of a magazine and also the world's first woman to endorse a sanitary napkin advertisement. Read on to know her story.

'Aizya Naaz Joshi' was born in 3 March 1987, she is also known as ‘Naaz’ becomes the first Indian transgender to be crowned as Ms. World Diversity 2018. She made history by becoming the first Indian trans-woman who appeared on "Tehelka" one of the leading fashion magazine. She began her career with a brief role in 1987 as a bardancer. She started her career in fashion designing in 1994 but later she quit that job. She has done her schooling in 1998 later she took admission at NIFT in 1999 and became a topper there. Her life has been full of struggles since childhood as she grew up in a prejudice society, her schoolmates called her chakka, heejra, impotent and what not? She absolutely had no friends in school, but she did not give up. She is from Delhi, her father is a Punjabi and her mother is a Muslim, later on she started living with her relatives. While living with relatives she studied till class 8 and was unable to complete her education. Being a transgender and because of her personal problems she didn’t do well as a designer, she once again ran away from her house, she tried committing suicide 3 times but every time she was saved, she was forced to take up a job in a massage parlor where she sold her body for mere 200 rupees per client, she was forced to have sex from an auto rickshaw driver to washer man, anyone and every one she was forced to entertain, she spent many nights lying on the railway platforms and without food, she knew the value of even single penny then and didn’t want to lose her job, from stardom to dust and again dust to stardom her story is truly inspiring, after the barbaric judgement of supreme court recognizing heejda community as a third gender she decided to come back to the fashion industry, but when she decided to come back her so called friends started blackmailing her about her being a prostitute, over the decade things have changed for transgender community in India, she tried her hands on blogging, styling, make up but finally found success in launching her beauty pageant, in mere one and half years of her pageant life, she has done 7 pageants under her label MIHM. She says ‘’ being a woman from heart , I am good at organizing things and I am pretty good at organizing events’’. Things worked for her when she underwent a sex [1]reassignment medicine in 2013 and started her modelling career eventually. When she got to know that Miss Universe contest has changed the participation rules in 2012 and now allows transgenders to participate in the beauty pageant, she decided to try her luck there.When her glamorous shoot took place, and she came on the cover page of an international magazine, she felt that she was dreaming but later on her parent called her and said "we are proud of you" that was the happiest moment of her life.They called her up in Mumbai and now she lives with them.She has worked with the country’s prominent personalities including cabinet minister Sheela Kumari, late model Viveka Babajee, Riya Sen and Neha Dhupia. She was appeared on Tehelka, Bollywood faces 2017, World class beauty queen magazine 2017, Hindustan times brunch August 2018, Supurb Gurgaon September 2018, Bollywood The faces of October 2018 She has taken a big step towards bringing about change in the society. Her vision is to do something for the welfare of girls, especially in rural areas, by opening computer institutes to impart free education to them, so that they become self-dependent. She launched MIHM a platform for MARRIED INDIAN ladies to show their talent through a beauty pageant name MRS INDIA HOME MAKERS. Naaz has done six beauty pageants under the label MIHM. She sent more than 18 women to compete for international pageants. Naaz herself won MS. REPUBLIC INTERNATIONAL BEAUTY AMBASSADOR 2017 title and MS. UNITED NATIONS AMBASSADOR title. Aizya(Naaz) thinks that humanity should be her religion and hopes the respect which she didn't get, she would be able to give it to those people who need them. Aizya Joshi becomes a initial Indian transsexual to win a pretension of Ms World Diversity 2018 held in Dubai. Competing opposite 22 participants, Joshi won a manifestation a second time in a row.
