The 28-105 lens is standard zoom lens made by canon inc.
This lens is uses focals length between wide and short telephoto, it use for general propose photography.
This lens is blah-blah, on a 1.3x body, and a blah-blah on a 1.6x body.

[edit]This lens is consumer class, is made of plastic, and has metal mount. It has a focus ring, a zoom ring, distance scale. It uses a small aperture, so ok for DOF effects. It uses a few elements, but no fancy glass. It uses a ring USM motor, so it has ftm. Internal AF, is ok speed, and non rotating lens barrel. lens barrel does extend when zooming.
MkII version has same optical biuld, chaged consmetics, and has 7-blade aperture.
Reception
[edit]This lens is seen as ok lens. Is good value. Ring USM makes it fast AF. Some dont like extending barrel. This lens has thin, rough focus ring. Zoom ring is also rough. This lens has average optical prefomance. Aperture make bokeh smother. does have some problems with CA's.

[edit]This lens is economy, cheap plastic, plastic mount. focus ring is outer lens barrel, has zoom ring, nothing else. aperture is very small, not useful for DOF effects. It uses a few elements, no fancy ones. its uses Micro USM, so no FTM. Front lens barrel focusing, slow speed, barrel rotates. lens barrel extends when zooming.
Reception
[edit]Nobody like this lens. it sucks. has not true focus ring. zoom ring is loose. horrilbe performance. aperture make bokeh "choppy". OMG!! CA's!!.
