Marzaban-Nama(Persian: مرزبان نامه) is a work in Persian prose containing a variety of short stories used as moral expamples. It is bound together by one major and several minor framework stories. It is essentially extant in two versions in elegent Persian with inerlaced verses and phrases in Arabic. The two translations to Persian from Tabari dialect were made independent of each other. The translation by Warawini is the more well known translation and elegant. Warawini calls the original language was in Tabari and calls it Fors-e-Qadim (Old Persian). He presented the work to Kasim Rabib al-Din, the vizier of the Eldiguzid ruler Ozbek.
