Decided to go undercover? — mark 06:41, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes :-) This seems the standard Wiki way, no? It seems very few folks use a recognisable tag. Seemed silly at first, but there is a certain reasoning behind it, I guess. Now much of a muchness. — NguniTraveller 22:59, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I actually started out under a pseudonym more than two years ago but switched to my real name after three months of editing, mainly because I figured that it wasn't all that bad if my work here could be traced to my real life identity (I was an MA student of African languages and linguistics at the time). I don't think there are statistics on this issue, but yes, there are many who choose not to use their real name for various reasons. — mark 20:02, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I like your reasoning. I may go back to the real me :-) Cheers — NguniTraveller 21:22, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do whatever you feel comfortable with! You could even maintain two accounts, but see WP:SOCK. More related reading at Wikipedia:Username#Choosing_a_username. — mark 12:34, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
