I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Direct conflict deaths, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. image denial[edit]

You stated that the image I submitted was denied and gave the reason as "the reason can be found on the main site about uploading an image"...I apologize for my newcomer status but that doesn't do much for me because I am completely new and don't fully understand what I did wrong. I was just trying to get started by doing something easy and following what I understood the instructions to be. If you could be more specific I would appreciate it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shortsstackyo (talkcontribs) 07:59, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

@Shortsstackyo: Hi. Your image upload request was declined because, while your request claimed the image was licensed under an acceptable free license ({{cc-by-3.0}}), the Flickr page said otherwise. It said "(C) all rights reserved". This is unacceptable for use on Wikipedia. Our policy requires an image to be licensed in a way that allows anyone to reuse it for any reason, even commercial purposes. The only exception are images which qualify for fair use under WP:NFCC, which this image would not. You can see your request and the denial at this archive. Let me know if you've any further questions. Cheers, Nick—Contact/Contribs 14:38, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
