List of bands from Iceland

[edit]

Hello Nilskt, you recently added a band to the List of bands from Iceland article. I reverted your edit, explaining that the band in question wasn't linked, meaning they didn't have a separate page. In my revert summary, I said "When making edits on Wikipedia, try to get a feel for the rest of the page and observe existing style. As you can see on this page, all listed bands are linked, meaning there is more information available on them. Before adding more bands, please make sure they have their own page". You seem to have disregarded this and gone ahead and re-added the same entry, this time with an external link. I understand that as a new user, you may not be familiar with common styles and protocols on this platform, but I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style as you continue on your journey as a Wikipedia editor. When you are unsure how to proceed, please feel free to turn to other editors, raise a question on a talk page, etc. All the best! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 14:55, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Revirvlkodlaku: Thanks for the feedback. My intention was to make the list more complete. I did not know that the band needs to have a separate page to be on a list of bands. I am sorry for breaking the rules. Regards.

Nilskt, thanks for acknowledging. I think you misunderstood my meeting, however. I completely understand that your intention was to make the list more complete, that's what this is all about, of course, and it makes Wikipedia better for everyone. It's not that there is a rule against adding items that aren't linked, I didn't say that. What I tried to express is that there is a certain tone to the page—every single item listed on the page is linked—and by observing this, you can notice the style of the page. Do you know what I mean? You haven't broken any rules, don't worry, that's not what I was trying to say. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 16:54, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
