[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Band-pass filter. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Fluorescence microscope. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 22:18, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Neutral density filter. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Filter (optics), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. I apologize. My intention was not to spam, but thought I was following the same guidelines as the other companies under 'Resources' on Filter (optics). If their names are there I think it's only appropriate that ours should be too, providing the presence does not go against Wikipedia's terms of use. Is it also inappropriate to link solely to our technical pages, which further explain optical interference filter terms? Thank you. Omegaoptical (talk) 00:14, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
- White papers and technical papers are okay to link to, if the reader does not have to pay. I deleted a number of your commercial links but I paused regarding the company's Teacher's Kit: was it free to teachers or was it for sale? I finally deleted it because the webpage did not have information which could stand alone as educational. Binksternet (talk) 05:10, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
