Hi Gabriel Kielland
Thanks for pointing this out to me. I noticed that Gill Instruments was listed on the weather station page and had added the link to Omni Instruments website. I didn't see anything different in the link to Gill and to Omni. Granted the Omni website, once you followed links showed pricing and is mainly a selling website, but the Gill one does offer links to quotations.
Can you tell me if links to calculators, datasheets or other technical literature is permissible, or still considered promotional material? I did add a link to a data page on the Ultrasonicflow.net website. This had a list of time of flight values for common liquids and materials, which I felt would be a good addition to the ultrasonic flow meter page. I think this was removed as well. Whilst the site is for selling, the page was for technical information and not promotion.
The omni website does have several calculators that are useful. Things like solar panel calculators, logger scaling calculators and mobile phone pricing calculators for data transmission. I also use http://www.coleparmer.com/techinfo/chemcomp.asp webpage a lot for chemical compatibility of materials, but the site has products available for sale. Is this the same situation?
I would like to be sure where the line is before adding any further links or information. I appreciate any advice you can provide.
Kenny
