Spoken article audio upload filename[edit]

As far as I can see, the audio names do follow the page name. I am not quite sure as to how the "--"s got itself appended and prepended, but that is not expected behavior. Next time you upload, you should be able to avoid this problem by making sure that the "Destination filename" - the actual name of the file on Wikipedia servers - is correct.

I don't currently see a way to move audio file and images as one can pages; if you feel perfectionist, you can re-upload into the correct filename (you were going to re-record anyway, right?)

And it's "canonization". Both that and "canonical" are derived from the root "canon". It's not the perfect word in this case, though. What you're looking for is probably "naming convention".

Finally, note that you can (and should) sign your name when you use the Wiki discussion system. All you have to do is type "~~~~", and it will be automatically replaced into something similar to what you see below.

An addendum: it is convention on Wikipedia that, if you are speaking via User_talk pages, that you reply on the talk page of the user you wish to talk to, instead of your own. That way, they get a "You have new messages." notification and can actually see your message in a timely manner.
