Regarding addition of entries to List of Australian artists, the artist either should have a WP entry that has met the requirements for notability etc, or the entry in the list itself should at the very least have a reliable source citation that demonstrates the artist is sufficiently notable to be there. Arguably, all the redlinked artists with no citations for notability could be deleted, but I just figured that would be being a dick. So I usually do a quick google search to get a feel for whether there are extensive reliable sources that would confirm an artist's notability. If there are (as for Ivan Durrant), I often just leave the entry alone. I figure if they're notable, eventually someone'll write the article.
Which brings me to a suggestion. If you think James deWeaver is covered by reliable sources sufficiently to have an article written about him (which wasn't the impression I got when i did a quick search), write the article, and then add him to this list. For guidance on what is involved in establishing notability, see Wikipedia:Notability (people). Hope this helps. hamiltonstone (talk) 11:55, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
