Carnatic music[edit]

Chandrasekar, there has been a long standing edit war in this article between editors wanting to be inclusive and neutral (like you) and with editors with a strong anti-Tamil bias and hatred hell bent on disrupting and blocking any information even remotely showing contributions of Tamils in Carnatic music or any number of other articles. No number of reliable citations would satisfy these fanatics. This is unfortunately the reality of Wikipedia today. There are a number of editors like me who have stopped editing actively as a result of these disruptions. However I wish you better luck. Parthi talk/contribs 07:02, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Chandrasekhar, good to see you here from the Forumhub days. Just relax and edit using appropriate policies, even then you will need to understand conflict resolution. Thanks Taprobanus 22:39, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Be careful what you characterize as vandalism. Read up on WP:VANDAL before you accuse others of vandalism as you did here(in your edit summary). Also read up on WP:EL, WP:RS, WP:NOR, WP:WEASEL and WP:PEACOCK. That much for today. Thanks. Sarvagnya 01:01, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

I saw your edit to Kannada article. Please be more deliberate, read the article fully before deleting large chunks from it. Better yet, ask a question and you will get an answer.Dineshkannambadi 17:16, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Mr. Dineshkannambadi, the portion I tried to remove was totally unfounded and based on some popular media effort. See [[1]]. In any case it is grossly wrong to claim the Brahmagiri edict is in Kannada language where it is in one of the Prakrits. perichandra1 18:51, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Mr Perichandra, please keep your archaelogical skills out of wikipedia. The sentence pertaining to Isila comes with citations from historians. Wikipedia does not give you the authority to decide what is isila and what is not isila. You are perhaps new to wikipedia and dont know how it works. I suggest you first speak to some senior friends of yours before judging the citations from historians. Nobody is claiming Brahmagiri edict is in Kannada language. It is in Prakrit containing the complex word called isila whcih accroding to historians is a Kannada word. If you have a problem with the deciphering of that word, take it up with the historians, not on wikipedia. Once you have proven to the historians that isila is not a Kannada word, make sure it is published by an historian. Then come back to wiki , and add a citation challenging the current one. Hope that brings you up-to-date on how wiki works. Untill then....Dineshkannambadi 19:30, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

BTW, thanks for communicating on talk pages. I appreciate your quick adjustment to wiki policy. Sorry if I seemed a bit rude in the previous message. Good luckDineshkannambadi 20:29, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Dating of Tolkappiyam[edit]

Hi, good to see you add useful information related to Tamil literature. One piece about dating of the Tolkappiyam was reverted by Sarvagnya. I've readded that info supported by a citation. Please take care that you support your claims with reliable sources so as to avoid getting reverted. Happy editing. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 17:37, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I don't think Dinesh meant it as a threat - he's usually very polite, and I see he's apologised to you on Talk:Kannada language. He must have been in an uncharacteristically bad mood. Incidentally, I'm not an admin - just a humble user - but for what it's worth, I've set out my views on the Brahmagiri inscription on Talk:Kannada language. -- Arvind 22:18, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I agree with Arvind about Dinesh. I don't think it needs any intervention. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 03:57, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
