Sources[edit]

Where are they? Dr Aaij (talk) 21:58, 29 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The sources have been added. PeterYatesVT (talk) 22:35, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Aha--it did in fact produce cotton gins. Well, that's something. One thing I'm missing is the modern history of it. The fire is one thing, but it's minor; more importantly is its continued existence as Continental Eagle, but I don't think you've done a Google Book search. And there is a tiny bit more here--but as with some of your classmates' topics, I just have serious doubts about a. whether this is notable or not by Wikipedia's standards b. whether there is enough to turn it into a full-fledged article and c. whether, well, this is very exciting to write. I really think you should search very quickly for a different article subject, using one of the methods we discussed in the first weeks, a subject which is more clearly notable than this one. Draft Review[edit]

- The structure of the article just has a lead which tells us that the subject of the article doesn't have enough coverage and therefore, a lack of material to write a consistent article.

- The lead is well written although it needs some punctuation like some commas here and there. But its well written.

- Obviously there are no sources cited and this questions the credibility of your article. I have some problems with sources in my article too, i need better sources and its difficult when a topic does not have enough coverage.

- Saying "one of the largest producers of cotton gins in the world" in your article bring back into question the your neutrality on the subject. This is all the more striking when there is no source cited after such affirmations.

- Last, the painting you inserted is not clear. I think a picture will do a better job in showing the reader what the company looks like. The difference between a painting and a picture is that with a painting, the viewer sees things through the artist's eyes, while a picture is a reflection of the reality with a lot of details.Fabdoull (talk) 13:25, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

-More research is being conducted to write a more complete article.

-I have added better punctuation in the entire article.

-Sources as of now have been added to the article.

-I have deleted the "one of the largest producers of cotton gins in the world" until I can give substantiated sources.

-I have removed the painting picture as I do not have the copyrights to the picture. I will be adding pictures that I have taken of the gin as well as some historical pictures once I obtain the rights to the pictures.PeterYatesVT (talk) 13:05, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
