Hi there, re: these edits, I'm not sure what you know about uk.blastingnews.com, but it doesn't qualify as a reliable source. We only care what mainstream sources with established reputations, clear editorial guidelines and an established reputation for fact-checking and accuracy have to say about anything. There's no indication that this site employs any actual journalists or does anything other than harvest content from other sources, and the mere existence of a high gross found on the internet doesn't mean the content is accurate. In this case, the article says that this ZeeBiz article was one of the sources they used, and that article indicates a gross of 235 crore. Please stick to mainstream, known sources. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources for a short list. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:06, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Petta (film), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Diffs: [1][2][3][4] I don't have time to give you the full personal attention you seem to need on identifying reliable sources, so I'm going to again point you to WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources and WP:RS. If you submit another poor reference again, like this 2-year-old blog, your ability to comprehend established community guidelines will be very strongly evaluated. As I previously said, the fact that some fringe website published a high financial figure for a film is in no way proof that the film achieved that figure. When well-known mainstream sources start to agree that the 295 crore-300 crore figure is likely, then we can consider adding the content. But so long as you're using garbage sources like blastingnews.com and vanakamindia.com, that's not acceptable. And since Wikipedia has no deadline, we are in no hurry to update these figures. If it takes months to get accurate figures, we'll wait over using poor references to support dubious claims. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:04, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re: this edit, was there something confusing in my message above? Because you submitted the same insufficient source with the same inflated figure. Please quickly familiarise with our reliable sourcing guidelines and WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources in particular. Being able to distinguish between established reliable sources and fly-by-night blogs and content scrapers is crucial to one's ability to edit constructively at Wikipedia. If you have specific questions, please ask them, but please stop submitting poor references or you will very quickly discover your editing privileges interrupted. Editing isn't wish-fulfillment; we're not here to assert our cognitive biases. Even if there were legitimate differing opinions on the film's gross, that content would be better presented as range, rather than as an absolute value, since Indian film financials are all based on estimates. Let me know if you have any confusion about any of this, because I want to be sure you're set up to edit successfully in the future. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:39, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
