Greater North Central Francophone Education Region No. 2

Dear Philippe Manseau, please note that english wikipedia has guidelines to use the common english usage of words when available per WP:Canstyle. The common english usage would be the "Greater North Central Francophone Education Region No. 2", not "Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord". Dear UrbanNerd, thanks for your comment. Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord refers to our "doing business as" name. Edmonton Public Schools is officially Edmonton School District No. 7 and Calgary Board of Education is officially Calgary School District No. 19. Therefore, we only see their "doing business as" name. We always use Conseil soclaire Centre-Nord everywhere, Greater North Central Francophone Education Region No. 2 is the name provided by Alberta Education, but never used anywhere else. I am part of the Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord staff, and know that we only go by the French name. Should we change the main article title to reflect the “common” name and add a redirection page for the legal name? From what I can see, other school district from Alberta use their “doing business as” for the Wiki page name. The guideline says to use the “usual name” which is the French name for us. Since there is a common english usage as advertised on your website and other sources the english version must be used. I understand the french name is the "doing business as" name, but the common english usage must be used for english wikipedia. Hope this clears things up. UrbanNerd (talk) 18:35, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
