Background
[edit]Hi Philsy, flitting through Adrian's talk page, I notice you are the motoring journalist and your article needs some biography. Even if you add it, it would be acceptable if it's written in neutral, objective, encyclopedic tone with any interviews or bibliography. The article needs some background along the lines of where born, family, early schooling, education, what took you into journalism and into motoring as well, what magazines you worked for or submitted to. If you have time, cheers Julia Rossi (talk) 23:20, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Julia. Thanks for your interest and for adding more info. I've never felt comfortable adding information about myself because it seems rather vain and not in the spirit of Wikipedia! Philsy (talk) 08:16, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's okay. True about wikipedia not being for self promotion, but author Mike Dash has an article for example and is a wikipedian. I'd like to expand yours even just marginally, but would do this by asking you a few basic questions. Do you mind? Otherwise I will find stuff online and you can always check it's validity. Either way I respect your wishes – nice to know you're a true non-self promoter : ) Julia Rossi (talk) 10:19, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Don't worry, the whole idea is run over by wikipedia's policy of no original research, so it's online I go <*groan*> Julia Rossi (talk) 10:26, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Seems a bit of a convoluted system! Feel free to email me via my website. Philsy (talk) 16:22, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is. Thanks for that, Julia Rossi (talk) 23:24, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- The article is expanded though probably a bit vague and I did slip in the bit about your dad. Please change anything you're not happy with. Best, Julia Rossi (talk) 00:56, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Road magazine
[edit]A tag has been placed on Road magazine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Waterden (talk) 15:54, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
