Moulin Rouge

[edit]

Hello, thanks for your edits to the Moulin Rouge article. I have tweaked the book reference you added and removed the photo references, as I didn't think they were necessary (it's also not a good idea to link to MySpace, as it's not a reliable source in Wikipedia, and we have no way to be sure that they aren't hosting copyright violations). I removed the link to Amazon, as it's a commercial book publisher, and formatted the ISBN so it is automatically linked in Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:ISBN). I also italicised the book title by enclosing it with two apostrophes rather than one, and put the punctuation before the references. Graham87 10:14, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lew Leslie, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Fay (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Marquee Club does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:19, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Marquee Club

[edit]

We are both keen to add the same referenced material to the article - there is no problem about that. But, please, when you add material, do so according to the proper editing guidelines here. For example, there is no need for every sentence to be linked to a reliable source when the whole paragraph comes from the same source. And, it is considered impolite, at best, to revert another editor's good faith changes without any form of explanation, either in an edit summary or on the article talk page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Marquee Club, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jethro Tull (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
