Binary Code[edit]

Why redirect to ASCII? That makes no sense. Let me redirect it to Binary instead. Gazpacho 20:34, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)

The VfD decision was to redirect it to ASCII — reason being that the page mostly consisted of an ASCII table. Plop 20:40, Jan 21, 2005 (UTC)
shoudn't it just be left alone? why redirect, its a seperate article from ASCII, the revesion before the redirect dosen't have much but i went to go add tons more to it to found it to be a pointless redirect.--Ryan B. (Talk, contributions) 20:34, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)

King George V School Controversy[edit]

What are the reasons for the censorship of the article that was posted earlier on the article "King George V School"? I thought people's views were supposed to be respected, or so says in the wiki guidelines.

Thanks for editing repeated words[edit]

Thanks for your work at User:R3m0t/Reports. Ignoring the fact that Gmail addresses are now dirt cheap and available on Wikipedia, I can offer you up to 3 addresses as token of gratitude (and showing off that I have those invitations ;)) If you accept (reply on the reports page please), make sure that you are accepting e-mails from the left link "E-mail this user". r3m0t 22:06, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)

This TFD-entry has too few discussion points for me to make a judgement as to consensus. Could you consider providing your opinion as you provided input to the MusicBrainz article back in mid 2004? Thanks for considering this. Courtland 01:49, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:IChat AV icon.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:IChat AV icon.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Facebook Logo.svg)[edit]

Nuvola apps important blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Facebook Logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:19, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia Reviewer.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. —DoRD (talk) 12:20, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Downball for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Downball is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Downball until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. – Richard BB 22:33, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?[edit]

Hi Plop, You recently received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! Disambiguation link notification for September 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Elizabeth Quat, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Tien (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:28, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
