User talk:RStrategies
Welcome!
Hello, RStrategies, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! --Alabamaboy 01:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Spam links warning
[edit]This is your only warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia and other sites that use the MediaWiki spam blacklist at all. --Alabamaboy 01:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Even though the information may be useful, you were still spamming your links across Wikipedia. If you promote your free maps elsewhere, editors here will eventually add them into relevant articles. That said, please check out Wikipedia:Spam#How_not_to_be_a_spammer for more on howw to provide your info here without spamming. Best, --Alabamaboy 14:26, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- To edit this talk page, simply click on the "edit this page" tab at the top of the page, just like you did with the article pages. I'd strongly suggest that if you want to add your company's info, go here and post a comment explaining the situation and see if anyone has an objection to adding in these links to maps on the different pipeline articles.--Alabamaboy 16:02, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply, I think I got the "edit" thing, I'll post the additional data and the explanation about why we think our resources are relevant to people looking for free pipeline maps and information. (RStrategies 16:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC))
- I first came here after seeing some of your contributions to other articles. Another good resource is WP:NOT and details how Wikipedia defines itself as an encyclopedia than a listing or directory. Mkdwtalk 18:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Generally, please don't add excessive external links, and don't solicit your company as a 'resource', it is considered spamming. Femto 21:17, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
