Studebaker Land Cruiser
[edit]Please stop including false information on the Studebaker Land Cruiser. The production books state that the final Land Cruiser was model 5H-Y5 in the 1955 Commander line-up. For 1955 there was no Land Crusier model, the vehicle being terminated and replaced by model 6H, President. This was the first use of the President nameplate since 1942, so the President nameplate was reintroduced and remained in place until 1958. Stude62 21:06, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely certain what you are talking about, since my edits have said EXACTLY that every time. Currently, your edit states "The President, in turn, was dropped at the end of 1954 to make way for the reintroduction of the Studebaker President nameplate." - a sentence which clearly does not make sense, and is untrue. The original article stated that the Land Cruiser was dropped in 1958, which as you pointed out, is untrue. My original edit said "The Land Cruiser name was discontinued at the end of the 1954 model year. Top-trimmed Studebakers from 1955-1958 went by the Studebaker President name (revived from the prewar President models). The President, in turn, was dropped at the end of 1958 to make way for the introduction of the Studebaker Lark nameplate in 1959." As far as I know, that is correct. In that first line I say the Land Cruiser was discontinued in 1954, the fact you frequently accuse me of getting wrong. The second line states that the President was the top-trimmed Studebaker model from 1955-1958. I don't see anything wrong with that. And the last line, which you keep editing, says that the PRESIDENT was discontinued in 1958 to make way for the Lark. I was talking about the President...nowhere in that sentence do I say ANYTHING to the effect of the Land Cruiser being discontinued in 1958. I do not deny that you know your facts about Studebakers, you clearly display that you do...but read carefully the edits that I made. What you wound up doing is changing facts about the wrong car. Sorry for any confusion I caused, but please change that last line.
