January 2008[edit]

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to MXR. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to MXR, you will be blocked from editing. It's already been explained to you that you are introducing material which is a copyright violation (WP:COPYVIO), which is strictly not tolerated. Oli Filth(talk) 19:38, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to MXR. ScarianCall me Pat 19:43, 30 January 2008 (UT

have you ever thought about the fact that the material sourced here was my own? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raoul123 (talkcontribs) 19:44, 30 January 2008

Are you saying that it is? Either way, please read the WP:COPYRIGHT guidelines for what to do.
Note also that even if you do own the material and it's all fine, it's still not written in a tone suitable for an encyclopaedia article. Oli Filth(talk) 19:47, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So let me think about that for a minute, You are an engineer that plays guitar on the side and that makes you an expert on how to write for an encyclopaedia article ? can you source any credentials adressing this?

I don't need to. There are plenty of Wikipedia guidelines, policies and past precedents that govern all of this. Oli Filth(talk) 19:55, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Copyright violation on Kamil Rustam[edit]

Copyright problem icon Your edit to Kamil Rustam has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information.

I noticed that the "Early Life" section of the Kamil Rustam article appeared to be closely copied from his website. The material appears to have been added by you back in 2007 (see this diff). You may now be more aware of copyright issues, but I figured I would notify you anyway. Cleancutkid (talk) 20:35, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
