External links[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. El_C 21:14, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • You were warned yesterday about posting links that do not comply with our guidelines. Please stop. Wikipedia is not a collection of external links. If you persist in adding these links, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Kafziel Talk 14:20, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. Kafziel Talk 14:25, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Your email[edit]

If someone wants to read articles from the Museum of American History, they can go to the Museum of American History's website on their own. Wikipedia's purpose is not to guide our readers to other sites; we are not a directory or a search engine. We're an encyclopedia. If those links contain information that could improve an article here, you are welcome to add the information to the body of the article and cite the source in the appropriate format. Yours is a very common argument, but simply adding links to external links sections is not helpful, no matter how useful you think the site is. Kafziel Talk 15:10, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
