Scaje
[edit]Howdy! I know that it's frustrating when an article you want to keep up is going under due to people not understanding it's notability. Allow me to share that I really do understand the world you are coming from. I'm an orthodox jewish musician living in Jerusalem. I'm friends with and hang out with Danny Zamir, Shlomo Katz, Aaron Razel, Dov Shurin and others. (I admit I don't have a very strong connection to Chaim Dovid but...) I've played in bands and at many kumzites. I know about the Jerusalem jam scene with Reb Ezra and others.
The question regarding Scaje - are they notable enough for an encyclopedia? As I mentioned on the AfD page, WP:BAND does allow for notability other than lots of news coverage but you need something.
To make it on WP you need two things. You need to explain why the subject is important and you need to give verifiable, reliable proof of the claim of importance. In the article on Scaje the claim of importance is:
The band has also played at kumzitzs with Dov Shurin, Chaim Dovid a Rebbe of the Shtichin Dynasty, showing they are a up and coming talent in the small but growing genre of Jewish kumzits bands.
There are two problems here. One, this claim is not verifiable. Two, even if it was, to be an up and coming talent in no way passes any of the criterion in WP:BAND.
I'll end with a thought. It looks like you created an account (or arrived on WP) to share your thoughts regarding Scaje. That's ok. Please understand that many people here will view you as a single purpous editor and give less weight to what you say for the moment. There are lots of things here on WP that you as a Jewish editor can help with. For example, the article on HASC or Yichud or Avraham Fried or Soulfarm or Kaf Hachayim or lots of others. We'd love to here your voice here. Joe407 (talk) 05:06, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
