Regarding John Kerry's medals and my involvement editing about them, here is some history:

My 1st edit was 04:51, 10 July 2004 216.153.214.94 (→Combat medals). [1] The crux of my edit was to delete a demonstrably false statement and insert a more accurate one. What was in the article said:"Due to questions regarding the nature of his wounds, the Kerry Campaign released his military records".

I deleted that and inserted "Due to questions regarding the nature of his wounds, the Kerry Campaign released some papers which purport to verify his military records. However, certain of these papers which were released, were in fact only a summary (Kerry Doctor Issues Summary) of parts of his military medical treatment. Also, of the papers which were released, some of them show second citations for a Silver Star and a Bronze Star were issued by John F. Lehman, who was Secretary of the Navy eleven years after Kerry's service".

Now, this 06:15, 13 July 2004 RickK m (Reverted edits by 216.153.214.94 to last version by Blahblah42) [2] was the 1st revert directed against me. In the section called "Issues and Voting Record", there was this: For information on Kerry's political views and voting record, see John Kerry presidential campaign, 2004.

I added this: or for a contrasting summary, see ("Who is John Kerry?") and was reverted. Bear in mind, this was my 3rd day here.

I was reverted on that again 16:38, 13 July 2004 Snoyes m (Reverted edits by 216.153.214.94 to last version by Jgm) [3]

And again 16:41, 13 July 2004 Snoyes m (Reverted edits by 216.153.214.94 to last version by Snoyes) [4]

Th next revert 16:48, 13 July 2004 Hadal m (Reverted edits by 216.153.214.94 to last version by Snoyes [5] was a doozy in that it reverted the GOP link again, but also deleted Some have suggested that rather than be awared with a medal for this action, Kerry should have been reprimanded for endagering his crew by beaching his boat

but inserted Kerry's favorite films are Giant and Casablanca. His favorite books are said to be James Bradley's Flags of Our Fathers and Stephen Ambrose's Undaunted Courage. While campaigning in 2003, he read Clyde Prestowitz's Rogue Nation, and Barbara Ehrenreich's Nickel and Dimed.

Reverted again 16:57, 13 July 2004 Snoyes m (Reverted edits by 216.153.214.94 to last version by Hadal [6]

Now look at this edit (which I did not make) and tell me it's not rife with POV: 22:03, 23 July 2004 Neutrality m (→Combat medals [7] Note that once again, the false (I will provide proof, be patient) statement of the Kerry Campaign released his military records is present.

Right on the heels of this, Neutrality basically re-wrote the bulk of the article:

Well anyway, you guys get the idea. To me, my very 1st edit (and subsequent revert against me) set the tone. I changed this the Kerry Campaign released his military records because it was false. I changed it to Due to questions regarding the nature of his wounds, the Kerry Campaign released some papers which purport to verify his military records. However, certain of these papers which were relased, were in fact only a summary (Kerry Doctor Issues Summary) of parts of his military medical treatment. and got reverted.

Now mind you, it was my contention that the status of Kerry records back in July 04 was has released summary only. Had not yet signed Form 180 authorizing release. Full records were not released yet at that time.

So then, unless you knew better, on Jun 8, 2005, when I got a message on my talk page from Neutrality, which stated that Kerry had only just then (may 20th 2005 - a full year later) actually released his records, you might be suprised. Here is the post, verbatim

Thought you might be interested[edit]

On May 20, Kerry signed a document called Standard Form 180, authorizing the Navy to send an "undeleted" copy of his "complete military service record and medical record" to the Globe. Asked why he delayed signing the form for so long, Kerry said in a written response: "The call for me to sign a 180 form came from the same partisan operatives who were lying about my record on a daily basis on the Web and in the right-wing media. Even though the media was discrediting them, they continued to lie. I felt strongly that we shouldn't kowtow to them and their attempts to drag their lies out."
Many of the records contain praise for Kerry's service. For example, the documents quote Kerry's former commanding officers as saying he is "one of the finest young officers with whom I have served;" is "the acknowledged leader of his peer group;" and is "highly recommended for promotion." [16]
Neutralitytalk 01:04, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)

The bottom line is that there has been a rotating crew pro-Kerry editors at John Kerry. Any edit which is not flattering to Kerry, is attacked and deleted. It has been that way since July '04 and it's that way today. Rex071404(all logic is premise based) 08:03, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
