Prof Garcia's Comments

[edit]

You have done an EXCEPTIONAL job, Rafael! You have written so thoroughly and clearly, and you have found several very useful sources. Erik Olin Wright is the man for class analysis, so you will use him a lot. Also take a look at people like Loic Wacquant and David Harvey. But you are off to an excellent start. Thank you for taking the time to do great work. Alfgarciamora (talk) 12:48, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Week 6: You are doing such a great job, Rafael. Well done! Keep up the great work. Make sure that you start citing your sentences and etc because it will be important for you later on. You will forget where you get your information from unless you start putting clear citations in your Sandbox. Alfgarciamora (talk) 12:16, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Rhern240: I think you may be developing one of the best Wikipedia pages of all the students I have ever taught. I commend you, Rafael, for doing such an exceptional job with your page. I think you are actually near completion! As you finish moving stuff over to the mainspace, please just clean up the article by editing sentences so that they're completely encyclopedic in tone. But well done overall, Rafael. You have really done a tremendous job. Alfgarciamora (talk) 19:16, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Rhern240: Hi Raf. I'm using you as an example for a talk I am giving about using Wikipedia in the classroom. Hope you're having a great day. Alfgarciamora (talk) 19:15, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Alfgarciamora:Thank you professor it really means a lot to hear you say that. I am still interested in cleaning these topics and yes my biggest concern was the encyclopedic tone but I am starting to discuss with someone on the community to see if they can give me better tips and to help me proofread my work. Hopefully it will result in a better suited wiki page. Rhern240 (talk) 16:16, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Rhern240, this is a fascinating topic, and it seems that you had been researching a lot. I remembered reading about Max Webber in "Classes, Status Groups, and Parties." about the differences between class and status. It will be interesting if somehow you can link the problem of race in class analysis. Spapa003 (talk) 02:10, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
