User talk:Ricara
Welcome!
Hello Ricara, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
In Wikipedia, new Users do not automatically receive a welcome; not even a machine-generated welcome. Welcome messages come from other Users. They are personal and genuine. They contain an offer of assistance if such assistance is ever desired.
I suggest to everyone I welcome that they may find some of the following helpful — there’s nothing personal in my suggestion and you may not need any of them:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Avoiding common mistakes
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on Talk pages (ie discussion pages) using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! Dolphin51 (talk) 02:44, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for contributions to Histoire_du_soldat!
[edit]Thanks for the great contributions to the article Histoire_du_soldat! I see that you have come off a long Wiki-Break! Its great to see you back! If you need help getting reoriented in Wikipedia: I would suggest starting at The Wikipedia Adventure! Its a great way to learn the ropes of Wikipedia again, Sadads (talk) 02:59, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
You are most welcome!
[edit]I was paralyzed in an accident almost 9 years ago and have not enough free time to contribute as much as I would like. Everything takes much longer to do when one is paralyzed. My main prior contribution was the creation of the page on "RC-5" a remote control transmission protocol. It was developed by Philips several decades ago and was commonly used and mis-used by many other audio electronics manufacturers, simply because Philips never made the documentation widely available. I started the RC-5 page to help spread accurate information but did not finish it. There are tables of commands for different categories of devices. I've posted all of the important ones but have not taken the time to post the unimportant or obsolete ones (eg, video-CD player). I will try to make the time to read the recommended article, as I know that things have changed and I am certain to be using less than the "best practices". Thank you for your encouragement. It is nice to be appreciated, and I was blown away by the depths of your contributions ("Health in Ghana"!). Best, Ricara (talk) 00:48, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Please comment on Talk:Roku#Wrap-up
[edit]@Ricara: i saw you objected earlier to Mdann52's drive-by-deletion of a useful comparison table and other content from the Roku page. A discussion on that in the talk page is nearing an end, can you add your voice to the wrap-up? EnTerr (talk) 09:00, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
