Other crap exists
[edit]I saw your latest post to the WP:MEDRS talk page and smiled. I've totally been there myself! But just so you know, arguing there are zillions of pages that don't comply with whatever someone insists is the guideline absolutely never works. Or at least, it's never worked for me. Right away, someone will argue WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. I feel your pain. Believe me. Msnicki (talk) 02:54, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks:-). Luckily that page is not a guideline/policy and is an essay so if someone links it and tries to pass it off as policy they wont succeed. I want to be sure I've understood their view correctly.
- It is sad that the masses will prevented from seeing important information that could benefit their mental health but not much can be done at this point other than making these people understand that they are required to apply policies to all pages equally. Lets see if they are capable of doing that. Nowadays pot is seen as fashionable and people are getting on the bandwagon praising this drug as being 'cool' and what not and therefore not wanting to see information being passed around which tries to change their viewpoints because its uncomfortable. I suspect these are the motivations behind at least some of the opposition to these references.
- The best solution is to mark studies like this: A new unreviewed study mentions ..." (this lets people know it is new, but they still get information that may be useful) but of course they wont accept it.
- Anyway, I will be watching that page. Thanks for the notice. --Richf52 (talk) 03:33, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
