Detroit People Mover
[edit]Were you the one who added in the 2015 ridership for the DPM? I ask, because it'd be interesting to see what it's peak ridership was. It seems that last year was the highest ridership for any year we have listed thus far. It'd be an interesting fact to add when the annual ridership for the system was. --Criticalthinker (talk) 13:36, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Hey, I was the one who updated the DPM page. It definitely was the highest it has been in years. I got that number from the DPM official website. A lot of the other statistics were from the American Public Transportation Association. The numbers over the years between the APTA and the DPM have been slightly different. When the fourth quarter report comes out on the APTA, I will compare the two statistics. The third quarter report on the APTA showed a fairly large percentage increase too. The question that you asked about the peak ridership is one that I've been researching for a while. The numbers differ so much that it is almost impossible to find a correct number. However, the people mover definitely had a good year. Rickkreuzer (talk) 19:57, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- If you ever contact them to find out, let me know. I think I tried years ago, but never got back a response. --Criticalthinker (talk) 19:05, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
The APTA 2015 fourth quarter report was just published. I found it quite interesting because the People Mover totals were not even on the report, only the Detroit bus system was. It was weird that the PM was on the 3rd quarter report but not the year end. So I will just be keeping the statistic that I found on the PM website. Thanks.
