Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Rkingginri, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Uncertainty in the Empire of Routine does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.
There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

- Hi TrangaBellam, Thanks for the welcome! I am confused, though, why you believe that my edit violated the NPOV policy, when the existing article contained a variety of exaggerated claims and stated a number of criticisms of the book as fact. I summarized Dykstra's responses to the criticism in the same tone as the summaries of the criticism. If my edits violated the NPOV, then so does the earlier section of the article regarding the criticisms, and the entire article should be taken down. Rkingginri (talk) 23:44, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
- One add! The source of my edits was from Dykstra's published reply, just as the source of the previous section's descriptions was from the published critiques. I used direct quotations to show this. So there is an asymmetry, again, if my edits are considered a violation of NPOV, but not the previous section of the article. - When four acclaimed historians denounce a work in the strongest of terms, the author's defense - even if it is mentioned in the article - will not have the final say. See WP:WEIGHT. TrangaBellam (talk) 06:31, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- Also, please stop edit-warring. TrangaBellam (talk) 06:31, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
