Genre

[edit]

Hi there Ronnie, re: this edit, though you obviously mean well, what we're trying to accomplish when adding a genre is to place the film in a broad category that most sources would consider it part of, and potentially a sub-genre if warranted. From WP:FILMLEAD:

...the opening sentence should identify the following elements: the title of the film, the year of its public release, and the primary genre or sub-genre under which it is verifiably classified ... Genre classifications should comply with WP:WEIGHT and represent what is specified by a majority of mainstream reliable sources.

Everybody has an opinion about genre, which is why we look to reliable sources instead of entertaining our own opinions. If there are multiple sources that are calling the film a "steampunk science fiction thriller", then you'd have a stronger argument, but even then we're getting into genre bloat territory.
