A tag has been placed on Edward R. Thaden, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. - Please do not remove speedy delete tags from articles even if you feel they were placed there in error. In the future you may place a hangon tag on the page and assert notability on the talk page (which you did). Since you asserted notability on the talk page I nominated the article for deletion, as the article does assert some notability, but it fails to meet WP:NOTE which is the standard all articles must meet in order to be included. You may of course participate in the deletion discussion, but first please read some of Wikipedia's policys such as WP:BIO and WP:COI. Any how welcome to Wikipedia! - Seconded. I tried to find the reviews you referred to in the NYT and Chicago Tribune archives, but was unsuccessful. You should consider obtaining copies of the reviews and writing the article based on them. I would want to keep an article on this musician if there were reliable sources documenting his career, such that he met the criteria in the notability guidelines for musicians and composers. Of course, if you are too close to the subject it may be better to let someone else write the article. I'm not saying you are or not; it's just something to consider.
