As a premise, I assume we all agree:
- That the 'definition' section of the article needs more pro-gun POV to achieve balance.
- That the topic 'Right to Bear Arms' is one of the most contentious in US politics, and therefore in Wikipedia.
- That because of this contention, passionate editors from all POV's are drawn to edit on this article.
So, the questions are:
- Do we agree to follow the WP:ARS 'Generally accepted sources' guidelines?
- If yes, then how closely shall we follow these guidelines? Strict? Moderate? Loose?
- If strict or moderate, where specifically in WP:ARS does a direct quote from a court document meet the guideline.
- If loose, then how shall we decide which sources are acceptable?
- Are direct quotes from court documents are acceptable, even if better (strict or moderate) WP:ARS sources available?
- If yes, what responsibility do we have to verify and explain the context and authority of the court document?
