Hi David
I'm confused here. From my perspective, most of the people commenting on 2001 have not understood the connection between Nietzche's work and the film. I saw 2001 before I read Zarathustra in college for my philosophy major and once I read the book, the intent of the imagery towards the end of the film became clear.
I learned about Nietzche's version of time in class, which was solely based on the text. Hence, I'm confused by your request for references. The only references I'm using here are the film and the book, both of which I refer to by name. The analysis is mine. Am I not allowed to contribute original thought to Wikipedia?
Thanks,
