ADtranz 170s

[edit]

OK you win this one as I heard that after Bombardier took over Derby works they actually made some changes to many of those existing units (what exactly I don't know), but I'm guessing to bring them more in line with the way they built them post-takeover. Ironically I remember being on 170273, a unit built 1 year after the takeover, but I saw the ADtranz logo on a pane of window glass, presumably just using up leftover parts until they ran out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 51.7.117.159 (talk) 11:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Best to just call them Bombardier Turbostars then. --SavageKieran (talk) 12:18, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"British Rail"

[edit]

170s are post-privatisation units and having "British Rail" in the title and infobox is enough. Your claim is false by the way, such as "The Class 196 Civity" and "The Class 197 Civity" (guess I've given you ideas now)... 143.159.50.70 (talk) 21:28, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I am aware, every other article for any UK railway rolling stock has 'British Rail' at the top as well as in the title and infobox. This should not be an exception for the 170 article, even if they are post-privatisation units considering there are plenty of other post-privatisation units that have 'British Rail' in them too. What do you mean my claims about the 196 and 197 are false too? --SavageKieran (talk) 00:06, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

UKRailnews as a source

[edit]

Hi; to advise I have partially reverted your most recent edit to InterCity 225. UKRailnews is a blog site and cannot be used as appropriate sourcing. Thanks. Nightfury 09:51, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I have now updated the citation to a more appropriate and reliable source on the mentioned article. I have also done the same thing for the London North Eastern Railway and British Rail Class 91 articles as I made the same edit on these two articles as well. --SavageKieran (talk) 23:22, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
