Citing oneself

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you added a citation to what appears to be a book you authored, in the article gender advertisement. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, because you have a conflict of interest regarding your own works. As an editorial guideline, we do not cite ourselves in Wikipedia articles. It gives the appearance of self-promotion, and Wikipedia is never to be used for promotional purposes under any circumstances. If you have a conflict of interest, you should propose the change you want to make on the article talk page rather than editing the article yourself. I have reverted your edit.
