The ANT underwater glider represents a significant advancement over the existing legacy body-of-revolution gliders. An Oceanographer from Scripps finds this to be "not notable" and continues to remove the mention of this glider. In a recent briefing by ONR's Dr. Swean (3rd Annual Unmanned Maritime Vehicles, "Advancing Sea-Glider Technology," Feb 27, 2007, Arlington VA), he had an entirely different perspective. I would defer to Dr. Swean's opinion in this regard, as he has funded a great deal of the work for unmanned undersea vehicles, including underwater gliders, for many years. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (SciFish) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Your username and contributions imply you represent the company at http://www.scifish.com/. OSborn arfcontribs. 22:04, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
