Welcome!!

Hello, Screamin' Johnny, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some useful pages to help you get started:

I hope you'll enjoy contributing as much as I do. When posting on discussion pages, please sign your messages. To do this, type four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

You are seeing this because in my patrols for vandalism, I saw you had edited a page. I also noticed that your talk page (this page) had a red link. That meant that the talk page didn't exist yet. I am sorry you can't eat the cookies, but they are still fresh. If you find a way to enjoy them, let me know. Will (Talk - contribs) 07:04, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of The Vacation (band)

[edit]

The article The Vacation (band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Slowking Man 03:25, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:1991-08_-_Guitar_World.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1991-08_-_Guitar_World.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 20:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:1994-08_-_Guitar_World.JPG listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:1994-08_-_Guitar_World.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 20:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hate to point this out because you have done a lot of work with it, but portals don't usually exist on narrow topics. Any portal with under three relevant articles actually qualifies for speedy deletion under speedy deletion criterion P2. You may want to consider moving any relevant content to another appropriate place like Portal:Guitar or expanding the Guitar World article itself ... because, honestly, it's only a matter of time before this portal gets deleted. --BigDT 22:29, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up: please see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Guitar World and feel free to comment there. YechielMan 22:26, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
