Deletion

[edit]

No offense, but I deleted the aritlce you wrote about your cat. Cats must be verifiable using reputable sources, and up-to-date on their shots, in order to be included. Friday (talk) 19:31, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting an article WHILE it's being written and pictures are being uploaded is a very very low thing to do. I don't even have a copy of what I wrote before. This is a verifiable cat. Please refer me to Wikipedia policies on the requirement that cats require shots.

The purpose of this article was to document the facts of this cat's existence with the hope of perhaps finding the correct owners of this wayward cat, in a humorous way.

The shots thing was a joke. Isn't it better for this to be deleted early on, before you put too much time into it? There's simply no way this will be kept. Wikipedia is not a free web host. See WP:V for what is meant by "verifiable" here. Friday (talk) 19:40, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pleasereturn the text to my control and restore the article. If it's not suitable content over time that will be clear. There are plenty of other satirical or light hearted articles. At the very least I need the text to post to a sandbox and practice. I have made other contributions to wikipedia, just never have started an article before.

I see little point, but I suppose I see little harm either. I've put the deleted text onto your user page. It is the responsibility of editors to make sure the content is suitable before putting it into article space, not after. If this goes back into an article, someone (not just me) will surely delete it in a hurry. Friday (talk) 19:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
